About

Romy 250mcg Injection contains Romiplostim, a platelet-stimulating agent used to treat immune primary thrombocytopenia (ITP). ITP is a condition where the immune system mistakenly targets and destroys platelets, resulting in a low platelet count. This medication is mainly used in adults and individuals aged 18 years and older who have not responded to previous treatments such as corticosteroids, immunoglobulins, or splenectomy (surgical removal of the spleen).

Romy 250mcg Injection is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Romiplostim or to other medications manufactured using recombinant DNA technology involving the bacterium Escherichia coli (E. coli). Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have any liver conditions, cancer, a recent history of surgery, smoke, or are using hormonal birth control pills, as these may influence the medication’s safety and effectiveness.

While on this medication, your doctor will conduct regular blood tests to monitor for any potential abnormalities, particularly in the bone marrow, since the drug has been associated with significant marrow changes. Based on the test results, your doctor will assess the need to continue or stop the treatment. Romy 250mcg Injection is not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly advised by your doctor. Be sure to inform your physician if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or suspect you may be pregnant before starting the medication. It is also unknown whether the drug passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding is not advised during treatment.
