About

FULZOS 250MG /5ML contains Fluconazole, an antifungal medication belonging to the triazole class. It works by selectively inhibiting the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α-demethylase, which is crucial for the biosynthesis of ergosterol. Ergosterol is a vital component of the fungal cell membrane, and its depletion leads to increased cell membrane permeability, leakage of cellular contents, and ultimately, fungal cell death. Fluconazole exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against various Candida species (excluding C. krusei and some C. glabrata strains), Cryptococcus neoformans, and other susceptible fungi.

This medication is widely used for both superficial and systemic fungal infections due to its excellent oral bioavailability, good penetration into various body tissues and fluids, including the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Its effectiveness and relatively favorable safety profile make it a cornerstone in the treatment and prophylaxis of many fungal diseases, particularly in immunocompromised patients. Dosage and duration of treatment vary significantly depending on the type and severity of the fungal infection.
