About

Veenat 100mg tablet contains Imatinib, an antineoplastic agent classified as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is prescribed for both adults and children to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a type of cancer in which abnormal white blood cells grow uncontrollably. It is also indicated for Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-positive ALL) and certain types of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), which form in the walls of the digestive tract and may spread to other areas of the body.

Additionally, Veenat 100mg is used to manage myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases (MDS/MPD), a group of blood disorders involving uncontrolled growth of certain blood cells. It is also prescribed for hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) and/or chronic eosinophilic leukemia (CEL), conditions characterized by an abnormal increase in eosinophils, a type of white blood cell. Another use includes treating dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), a rare cancer affecting the tissue beneath the skin. This medicine works by blocking the growth of abnormal cells.

Do not take Veenat 100mg if you are allergic to Imatinib or any of its ingredients. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart conditions, thyroid disorders, or if your thyroid gland has been removed. Also, notify your physician if you have a history of hepatitis B infection, as this medication may reactivate the virus. Watch for symptoms such as unusual bruising, bleeding, fever, fatigue, or confusion while on this medication. Be aware that this medicine may also affect fertility.
