About
Imaget 400mg Tablet contains the active ingredient imatinib, an antineoplastic medication belonging to the class of tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It is used to treat adults and children with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a type of leukemia in which certain abnormal white blood cells grow uncontrollably. It is also indicated for Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-positive ALL) and certain gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), which are tumors that develop in the walls of the digestive tract and may spread to other parts of the body.
In addition, Imaget 400mg Tablet is used for myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases (MDS/MPD), conditions where some blood cells grow abnormally, as well as hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) and chronic eosinophilic leukemia (CEL), in which eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) proliferate excessively. It is also prescribed for dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), a cancer of the tissue beneath the skin where certain cells grow abnormally. Imatinib works by inhibiting the growth of these abnormal blood cells.
Do not take Imaget 400mg Tablet if you are allergic to imatinib or any other ingredients in this medicine. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney, heart, or liver problems, thyroid disorders, or if your thyroid gland has been removed. Also notify your doctor if you have had or currently have a hepatitis B infection, as this medicine can reactivate the virus. Report any symptoms such as bruising, bleeding, fever, fatigue, or confusion while taking this medicine. Imaget 400mg Tablet may also affect fertility.
