About

Veenat 400mg tablet contains the active ingredient Imatinib, an antineoplastic agent classified as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is prescribed for adults and children to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a type of blood cancer where abnormal white blood cells multiply uncontrollably. It is also used for Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-positive ALL), and certain gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), which are cancers that originate in the walls of the digestive tract and may spread to other areas.

Additionally, Veenat 400mg is indicated for treating myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative diseases (MDS/MPD)—a group of blood disorders characterized by uncontrolled cell growth. It is also used for hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) and/or chronic eosinophilic leukemia (CEL), where eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) grow abnormally. Furthermore, it is prescribed for dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), a rare skin tissue cancer marked by abnormal cell growth beneath the skin. This medication works by inhibiting the proliferation of these abnormal cells.

Avoid using Veenat 400mg if you are allergic to Imatinib or any of its components. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, or heart conditions, thyroid disorders, or have had your thyroid gland removed. Also, disclose if you currently have or have had a hepatitis B infection, as the medicine can reactivate the virus. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience unusual bruising, bleeding, fatigue, fever, or confusion. Be aware that this medicine may also affect fertility.
