About

Irnotop 100mg Injection contains Irinotecan, a potent antineoplastic agent classified as a topoisomerase I inhibitor. Its mechanism of action involves binding to the topoisomerase I-DNA complex, which prevents the re-ligation of DNA single-strand breaks, leading to irreversible DNA damage. This ultimately triggers cell cycle arrest and programmed cell death (apoptosis) in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Irinotecan is a prodrug that undergoes metabolic activation to its highly potent metabolite, SN-38. It is primarily utilized in the treatment of various advanced solid tumors, often as part of a combination chemotherapy regimen. Administration is strictly via intravenous infusion under close medical supervision. Due to its significant toxicity profile, particularly severe myelosuppression and delayed diarrhea, meticulous patient monitoring and comprehensive supportive care are paramount throughout the treatment period.
