About

Lablol 20mg Injection is an antihypertensive medication belonging to the class of non-cardioselective beta blockers, with the active ingredient Labetalol. It is primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and may also be prescribed for certain heart conditions. This medicine is particularly useful in managing hypertensive emergencies, including severe high blood pressure during pregnancy.

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Labetalol or any of its ingredients. Patients with asthma or severe COPD should use it with caution, as it may worsen bronchospasms or respiratory function. Lablol lowers blood pressure and can also affect heart rate, potentially causing bradycardia (slow heart rate), especially in individuals with preexisting heart rhythm disorders. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is essential during treatment. Inform your doctor or surgeon about this medication before surgery, as it may interact with anesthesia and other drugs used during surgical procedures, affecting blood pressure control.

Patients with impaired liver function may have higher drug levels since Labetalol is metabolized in the liver; dose adjustments may be needed. This drug can also influence blood sugar levels and may mask some signs of low blood sugar. Diabetic patients should monitor their glucose levels closely, and adjustments to diabetes medications may be required.

Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking Lablol, as the medicine can pass into breast milk. Always inform your physician about all other medications, including over-the-counter or herbal products, to avoid potential drug interactions. Your doctor will assess and manage any risks associated with concurrent use.
