About

Lenvatinib is an oral multi-kinase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of various advanced cancers. It exerts its antineoplastic activity by selectively inhibiting the kinase activities of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1, VEGFR2, and VEGFR3), fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3, and FGFR4), platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRα), KIT, and RET proto-oncogene. These receptors are crucial for tumor angiogenesis, tumor growth, and progression.

By targeting these pathways, lenvatinib helps to inhibit the formation of new blood vessels that feed tumors, thereby starving them and slowing their growth. Its broad spectrum of kinase inhibition makes it a valuable therapeutic option in malignancies that are often resistant to other treatments, offering improved outcomes for patients with advanced or metastatic disease.
