About

Myaza 100mg Injection contains Azacitidine, a potent pyrimidine nucleoside analog that functions as a hypomethylating agent. Its mechanism involves incorporation into DNA and RNA, leading to global DNA hypomethylation. This process reactivates tumor suppressor genes and genes involved in cell differentiation and proliferation that have been aberrantly silenced by hypermethylation in malignant cells. Additionally, Azacitidine exerts direct cytotoxicity on abnormal hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow. This dual action helps to restore normal hematopoiesis and reduce the burden of malignant cells. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) across all French-American-British (FAB) subtypes, including refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB), chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with 20-30% blasts. Its use aims to improve hematological parameters, reduce transfusion dependence, and prolong survival in these high-risk patient populations.
