About

Nucoxia 120mg Tab contains Etoricoxib, a highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, classified within the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) family. Its therapeutic action stems from its ability to selectively block the COX-2 enzyme, which is predominantly induced at sites of inflammation and is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain, inflammation, and fever. By selectively inhibiting COX-2 while largely sparing COX-1, Etoricoxib aims to provide potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects with a potentially reduced risk of gastrointestinal adverse events, such as gastric ulcers and bleeding, compared to conventional non-selective NSAIDs.
