About

Zoleget 4mg contains zoledronic acid, a medication classified under bisphosphonates. It is primarily used in adults to lower elevated calcium levels in the blood caused by tumors—a condition known as tumor-induced hypercalcemia (TIH). Tumors can disrupt normal bone turnover, leading to excessive calcium release from bones. Zoleget 4mg is also prescribed to help prevent bone complications in adults with multiple myeloma or bone metastases from solid tumors, alongside standard cancer treatments.

Additionally, Zoleget 4mg is indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis—a condition where bones become fragile and prone to fractures—in postmenopausal women and in men. It is also used to treat Paget’s disease of bone, a condition that causes bones to become soft, weak, and deformed or painful. The medicine can further be used to manage or prevent osteoporosis in men and women who are receiving glucocorticoid therapy, which may contribute to bone loss.

You should not receive this injection if you are allergic to zoledronic acid, any other bisphosphonates, or any component of the medicine. It is also not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney issues, bone conditions, or symptoms such as jaw pain, numbness, or swelling. Zoleget 4mg is not a chemotherapy drug and does not stop the spread of cancer, but it can be beneficial in managing bone-related complications in cancer patients. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
