About
Nzalut (enzalutamide) is an androgen receptor inhibitor used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It works by blocking multiple steps in the androgen receptor signaling pathway, which is crucial for the growth and survival of prostate cancer cells. Enzalutamide exerts its anti-tumor effects by inhibiting androgen binding to the androgen receptor, preventing the nuclear translocation of the activated receptor, and impairing its binding to DNA. This comprehensive blockade effectively reduces the proliferation of cancer cells and induces apoptosis. It is particularly indicated for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC), and metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC), where it helps to prolong survival, delay disease progression, and improve clinical outcomes for men whose cancer has progressed despite conventional hormone therapy.
Uses
- Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)
- Non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC)
