About

PICLIB 75MG CAPSULE 21'S contains palbociclib, a targeted anticancer therapy belonging to the class of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitors. It is prescribed for hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer, where the cancer has spread beyond the breast. Palbociclib works by inhibiting CDK 4 and 6 proteins in cancer cells, preventing them from dividing and growing. This medication is usually given in combination with other anticancer drugs as part of a treatment regimen.

Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, hair loss, dry skin, rash, infections (such as colds or flu), nosebleeds, reduced appetite, low blood cell counts (anemia, leukopenia, neutropenia), mouth sores (stomatitis), taste changes, dry eyes, blurred vision, and increased tearing. It is important to notify your doctor if any side effects persist or become troublesome. Blood tests will be performed regularly to monitor blood cell levels during treatment.

Before starting PICLIB, inform your healthcare provider of any allergies to palbociclib or other ingredients in the capsule, as well as any existing conditions, including infections (fever, chills, sore throat), liver or kidney problems, or sugar intolerances. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience new or worsening respiratory symptoms, such as dry cough, chest pain, or difficulty breathing, which may indicate lung inflammation (pneumonitis). Provide a complete list of all medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and herbal remedies, to avoid potential interactions.

Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least three weeks after the last dose. PICLIB is generally not recommended for patients under 18 years of age. Maintaining proper hydration and nutrition during therapy is also advised.
