About
Rablet D is a combination medication designed to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and other conditions associated with excessive stomach acid and impaired gastrointestinal motility. It comprises Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and Domperidone, a prokinetic agent. Rabeprazole works by irreversibly blocking the hydrogen-potassium ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells, thereby significantly reducing gastric acid secretion. Domperidone acts as a dopamine antagonist, primarily at the D2 receptors, which enhances gastrointestinal motility by increasing the tone of the lower esophageal sphincter and accelerating gastric emptying. This dual action effectively alleviates symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, nausea, and bloating, promoting healing of esophageal erosions and improving overall digestive comfort. It is particularly useful when acid suppression needs to be combined with improved gut movement.
