About
RENODAPT S 360 Tablets contain Mycophenolic Acid (MPA) 360mg, an enteric-coated formulation of an immunosuppressant medication. It is primarily used to prevent organ rejection in patients who have received kidney, heart, or liver transplants. MPA works by selectively inhibiting inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), an enzyme crucial for the de novo synthesis of guanosine nucleotides, which are essential for the proliferation of B and T lymphocytes. This selective inhibition suppresses the immune response without causing significant myelosuppression.
The enteric-coated formulation helps to reduce gastrointestinal side effects often associated with mycophenolate mofetil. RENODAPT S 360 is typically used in combination with other immunosuppressants, such as calcineurin inhibitors and corticosteroids, to provide comprehensive immune suppression and minimize the risk of graft rejection. Regular monitoring of blood counts and kidney function is important during treatment to manage potential side effects and ensure optimal therapeutic levels.
