About

Rosuvas 40mg Tablet contains rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor used for aggressive lipid modification. This high-dose formulation is indicated for patients requiring substantial lipid lowering, particularly those with severe primary hypercholesterolemia, homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, or those at very high risk of cardiovascular events who have not achieved target lipid levels with lower statin doses. Rosuvastatin works by reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver and increasing the uptake of LDL-C from the bloodstream, leading to significant reductions in total cholesterol, LDL-C, and triglycerides, while also elevating HDL-C.

Its efficacy in reducing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality has been well-established, making it a critical component in the management of severe dyslipidemia. Due to its potency, careful monitoring for adverse effects, particularly muscle and liver-related issues, is essential when using this high-strength formulation.

Uses

  • Severe primary hypercholesterolemia.
  • Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.
  • High-risk patients requiring aggressive LDL-C reduction.
