About

RAZEL F 10 FORTE combines Rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin), and Fenofibrate, a fibric acid derivative. Rosuvastatin primarily works by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver, thereby lowering LDL-C ("bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides, and increasing HDL-C ("good" cholesterol). Fenofibrate primarily acts by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), which leads to increased breakdown of triglycerides and removal of triglyceride-rich particles from the blood, as well as a modest increase in HDL-C. This combination therapy is particularly effective in patients with mixed dyslipidemia, where both elevated cholesterol and triglycerides are present, and who have not achieved target lipid levels with monotherapy. It helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events by improving the overall lipid profile and managing lipid abnormalities comprehensively.
