TEGLIPTIN M 500MG TAB is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Teneligliptin and Metformin, used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Teneligliptin is a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that works by increasing the levels of active incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). These hormones enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and suppress glucagon secretion from alpha cells, thereby lowering blood glucose. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.
