TELMEKIND contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used primarily for the treatment of essential hypertension. Telmisartan works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptors found in various tissues, including vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal glands. Angiotensin II is a potent vasoconstrictor and a key component of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), which plays a crucial role in blood pressure regulation.
