About
TENEZA TAB contains Teneligliptin, an oral antidiabetic medication belonging to the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class. It is used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control. Teneligliptin works by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which is responsible for the inactivation of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). By preventing the breakdown of these incretins, Teneligliptin increases their levels, leading to enhanced glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and reduced glucagon secretion from pancreatic alpha cells. This results in lower fasting and post-meal blood glucose levels without significantly increasing the risk of hypoglycemia when used as monotherapy.
