About

Actemra 162mg Injection contains the active ingredient tocilizumab, a monoclonal antibody derived from specific immune cells. It is used to treat several inflammatory conditions, including moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults who have not responded adequately to other rheumatoid medications, and giant cell arteritis (a condition affecting the arteries). It is also prescribed for children aged 1 year and above with systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA), which cause joint pain and swelling.

Children who are allergic to Actemra or any of its components, or who have severe infections, should consult a doctor before starting treatment. Immediate medical attention is required if any signs of allergic reactions occur, such as difficulty breathing, chest tightness, rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the lips, tongue, or face. Inform the doctor if there is a history of infections (acute or chronic), tuberculosis, intestinal ulcers or diverticulitis, liver disease, cancer, kidney issues, or frequent headaches.

Let your physician know if the child has a history of macrophage activation syndrome (a condition involving excessive immune cell activity). Elderly patients should be treated with caution as they have a higher risk of developing infections. Women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding should consult their doctor before using this medication.
