About

DAJIO M 500 TAB is a combination medication containing Dapagliflozin and Metformin, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by increasing glucose excretion in the urine via the kidneys. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues. This combination provides a dual mechanism of action to effectively lower blood glucose levels, offering comprehensive glycemic control. Beyond glucose lowering, Dapagliflozin also provides significant cardiovascular and renal benefits, making this medication a valuable option for patients with type 2 diabetes who may also have or be at risk for heart failure or chronic kidney disease.
