Eltromag 25mg Tablet is an anticoagulant medication classified as a thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist. It contains the active ingredient Eltrombopag and is primarily prescribed to treat low platelet counts in conditions such as primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. ITP is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system mistakenly destroys platelets—cells essential for blood clotting and maintaining the integrity of blood vessels. A reduction in platelet levels can lead to excessive bruising and severe bleeding.

Additionally, Eltromag 25mg is used in adults to manage severe aplastic anaemia, a serious condition in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough new blood cells.

This medication is not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity to Eltrombopag or any of its components. Allergic reactions may range from mild to severe and can include symptoms like rashes, itching, swelling, dizziness, or breathing difficulties. Eltromag 25mg is not suitable for children under 1 year of age with ITP, nor is it recommended for individuals under 18 with low platelet counts resulting from hepatitis C or severe aplastic anaemia.
