About

Emtricitabine is a potent nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) widely used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. As a prodrug, it undergoes intracellular phosphorylation to its active 5'-triphosphate form, emtricitabine triphosphate.
