About

ESLO AT is a fixed-dose combination medication used for the effective management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris. It comprises Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, and Atenolol, a beta-1 selective adrenergic receptor blocker. Amlodipine primarily acts by relaxing the smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. It also improves blood flow to the heart, which helps in relieving angina. Atenolol works by selectively blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, which reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, further contributing to blood pressure reduction and decreasing the heart's oxygen demand, thus preventing angina attacks. This synergistic action provides comprehensive control over blood pressure and angina symptoms, making it a valuable option for patients requiring dual therapy.
