About
Mostim 24mg Injection is an antineoplastic medication containing the active ingredient Plerixafor. It is used to collect, store, and transplant blood stem cells. It is also prescribed for treating lymphoma (a type of white blood cell cancer), multiple myeloma (cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow), and certain solid tumors. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease. Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have high white blood cell counts, low platelet counts, or a tendency to feel lightheaded or faint, especially prior to the injection. This medicine is not recommended for stem cell mobilization in patients with leukemia.
Do not use this injection if you are allergic to Plerixafor or any of its ingredients. If you have kidney problems, notify your doctor, as the dose of Mostim 24mg may need adjustment. Your doctor will likely perform regular blood tests to monitor your blood cell counts. Avoid this medication if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Effective contraception is strongly advised during treatment. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience side effects such as rashes, swelling around the eyes, difficulty breathing (lack of oxygen), or pain in the upper left abdomen or left shoulder.
