About
Rituxirel RN 100mg Injection contains the active ingredient rituximab and is used to treat a variety of conditions in adults. It may be used alone or in combination with other medications for the treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects white blood cells called B-lymphocytes, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, the most common form of B-cell cancer. Additionally, it is prescribed for moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults, used together with methotrexate. Rituxirel RN 100mg is also indicated for granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis—conditions that cause inflammation of blood vessels, mainly affecting the lungs and kidneys—in both adults and children aged two years and older. Another approved use is for moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune disorder that leads to painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes, including the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.
This medication belongs to a class of drugs called anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. It should not be used if you are allergic to rituximab or any of its ingredients, have a compromised immune system, or suffer from a severe active infection. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, heart failure, or respiratory issues. If you’ve ever had a hepatitis B infection, let your doctor know, as the virus can sometimes reactivate during treatment and may become severe. The use of Rituxirel RN during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
Common side effects include blood infections, low red blood cell count, dizziness, swelling of the face and body, skin itching, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and fluctuations in blood pressure. The medication can also cause serious infusion-related reactions either during or within 24 hours after administration. Signs of such reactions may include high blood pressure, chest pain, headaches, difficulty breathing, vomiting, rashes, or throat swelling. It is important to notify your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of these symptoms. Additionally, individuals who could become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 12 months after the final dose.
