Toritz 500mg Injection contains the active ingredient rituximab and is used to treat various conditions in adults. It may be administered alone or with other medications to manage non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer affecting B-lymphocytes) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (a common B-cell cancer). It is also prescribed in combination with methotrexate for moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the joints. Additional approved uses include granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis—both inflammatory diseases affecting blood vessels, mainly in the lungs and kidneys—in adults and children aged 2 years and older. Toritz is also used for moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune condition that causes painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.

Toritz 500mg Injection belongs to the class of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. Do not use this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any of its ingredients, have a weakened immune system, or have a severe active infection. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have heart disease, heart failure, or breathing difficulties. Also, inform your doctor if you have ever had hepatitis B, as the infection may reactivate in some cases and can be serious. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not recommended during treatment with this medication.

Common side effects of Toritz 500mg Injection include blood infections, low red blood cell counts, dizziness, swelling of the face and body, itching, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and changes in blood pressure (either high or low). Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months after the final dose. This medication may cause severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours after administration. Contact your doctor or healthcare professional immediately if you experience symptoms such as high blood pressure, chest pain, headache, breathing difficulties, vomiting, skin rash, or throat swelling.
