About

Rituxirel 500mg Injection contains rituximab as its active ingredient and is used to treat several medical conditions in adults. It is commonly prescribed, either alone or in combination with other medications, for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma—a cancer that affects B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell—and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, the most prevalent form of B-cell cancer. In adults with moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis, Rituxirel 500mg is used alongside methotrexate to reduce inflammation and joint damage caused by the immune system attacking the body’s own cells. It is also indicated for the treatment of granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis, inflammatory conditions of the blood vessels that primarily affect the lungs and kidneys, in both adults and children aged two years and above. Additionally, the injection is used to manage moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune disorder that leads to painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.

This medication belongs to a class known as anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. It should not be used if you are allergic to rituximab or any of its components, have a weakened immune system, or are suffering from a serious active infection. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, heart failure, or breathing difficulties. It is also important to mention if you have previously had a hepatitis B infection, as this virus may reactivate during treatment in some cases, potentially leading to severe complications. The use of Rituxirel 500mg Injection is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Common side effects include blood infections, reduced red blood cell count, dizziness, facial or body swelling, itchy skin, diarrhea, excessive sweating, and changes in blood pressure. Rituxirel may also cause serious infusion-related reactions, which can occur during or within 24 hours after administration. Symptoms may include high blood pressure, chest pain, headache, difficulty breathing, vomiting, skin rashes, or swelling of the throat. Patients who are able to become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 12 months after the final dose. Always consult your doctor immediately if you experience any concerning side effects.
