About

STAMLO BETA TAB. is a fixed-dose combination medication containing Amlodipine and Atenolol. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing the smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. Atenolol is a beta-1 selective adrenergic receptor blocker that primarily acts on the heart to decrease heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, which also contributes to blood pressure reduction. This combination provides a dual mechanism of action, offering comprehensive control over hypertension and angina. It is particularly useful for patients who require more aggressive blood pressure management or those who experience angina pectoris alongside hypertension, benefiting from the synergistic effects of both agents to achieve optimal cardiovascular outcomes.
