About

Therotepa 15mg Injection contains thiotepa, an alkylating agent used in chemotherapy. It works by forming covalent bonds with DNA, leading to cross-linking of DNA strands and inhibition of DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis. This action is profoundly cytotoxic, primarily affecting rapidly dividing cells, including cancer cells. Thiotepa is a broad-spectrum antineoplastic agent, often employed in high-dose chemotherapy regimens with hematopoietic stem cell support, particularly in conditioning regimens prior to bone marrow transplantation. It is also used for intracavitary administration in certain cancers, such as bladder cancer, and for systemic treatment of breast and ovarian cancers. Its mechanism disrupts cellular replication, ultimately leading to cell death and tumor regression.

Uses

  • High-dose chemotherapy with hematopoietic stem cell support.
  • Treatment of bladder cancer (intravesical administration).
  • Management of breast cancer.
  • Treatment of ovarian cancer.
