About
Celbopag 25mg Tablet is an oral thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA) designed to stimulate the production of platelets in the bone marrow. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in adult patients who have had an insufficient response to previous treatments, and for severe aplastic anemia (SAA) in patients who are refractory to immunosuppressive therapy. The drug functions by binding to and activating the thrombopoietin receptor on the surface of megakaryocytes and their progenitor cells. This activation mimics the action of endogenous thrombopoietin, leading to increased proliferation, differentiation, and maturation of megakaryocytes, ultimately resulting in a dose-dependent increase in platelet count. By effectively raising and maintaining platelet levels, Celbopag significantly reduces the risk of bleeding episodes and the need for platelet transfusions, thereby improving the clinical management and quality of life for affected individuals.
