About
NULONG T TAB is a dual-component medication specifically designed for the effective treatment of essential hypertension, particularly when monotherapy with either Telmisartan or Hydrochlorothiazide alone proves insufficient. It combines Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), with Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. Telmisartan exerts its antihypertensive effect by selectively blocking the AT1 receptor, which prevents the binding of angiotensin II and subsequently inhibits its vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting actions. This leads to effective vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance. Hydrochlorothiazide complements this action by increasing the renal excretion of sodium and water, thereby reducing plasma volume and further lowering blood pressure. This synergistic mechanism of action provides additive antihypertensive effects, allowing for more efficient and sustained blood pressure control. The combination helps to achieve target blood pressure levels more effectively, thereby reducing the overall cardiovascular risk associated with uncontrolled hypertension.
