About

RECLIMET OD 30 is a combination medication specifically formulated for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It combines two potent antidiabetic agents: Gliclazide, a sulfonylurea, and Metformin, a biguanide. Gliclazide works primarily by stimulating the pancreatic beta cells to release more insulin, thereby lowering blood glucose levels. Metformin, on the other hand, acts by reducing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues. This dual mechanism of action provides comprehensive glycemic control, addressing both insulin secretion and insulin resistance, which are key pathophysiological defects in Type 2 Diabetes. The extended-release (OD) formulation ensures sustained therapeutic effects, contributing to better adherence and stable blood sugar management throughout the day. This combination is particularly beneficial for patients whose blood sugar is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.

Uses

  • Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
  • Improvement of glycemic control.
  • Reduction of fasting and post-prandial blood sugar levels.
  • Prevention of diabetes-related complications.
