About
SITAXA D 10+100 TAB is a combination medication specifically designed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains two active ingredients: Sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, and Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. Sitagliptin works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood glucose. Dapagliflozin acts by blocking the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys, leading to increased glucose excretion in the urine and a reduction in blood sugar levels. This dual mechanism provides a comprehensive approach to glycemic control, helping to improve blood sugar levels, reduce HbA1c, and potentially offer cardiovascular and renal benefits in patients with type 2 diabetes, especially when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
