About

Tendia Tab contains Teneligliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Teneligliptin works by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which is responsible for the degradation of incretin hormones, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). By preserving the active forms of these incretins, Teneligliptin enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and suppresses glucagon secretion from alpha cells. This mechanism helps to lower both fasting and post-meal blood glucose levels effectively, with a low risk of hypoglycemia when used as monotherapy. It is a valuable option for patients seeking improved glycemic control.
