About
Trulicity 1.5mg Injection contains dulaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection, it mimics the action of natural incretin hormones. Dulaglutide stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, suppresses glucagon secretion from alpha cells, slows gastric emptying, and promotes a feeling of fullness. These combined actions lead to improved glycemic control, reduced postprandial glucose excursions, and often result in weight loss. Trulicity has also demonstrated significant cardiovascular benefits, reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors. It can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.
