About

Cladrim 10mg Injection contains Cladribine, a purine nucleoside analog that acts as an antimetabolite. It is a potent immunosuppressive and cytotoxic agent, primarily used in the treatment of certain hematological malignancies and autoimmune diseases. Cladribine is incorporated into DNA, leading to DNA strand breaks and inhibition of DNA synthesis and repair, particularly in lymphocytes and monocytes. This selective toxicity to lymphocytes makes it highly effective in conditions characterized by an overproduction or hyperactivity of these cells.

Its mechanism of action results in prolonged lymphopenia, which is therapeutically beneficial in diseases like hairy cell leukemia and multiple sclerosis. The drug is administered intravenously, and its precise dosing and administration require careful medical supervision. Due to its immunosuppressive effects, patients receiving Cladribine are at an increased risk of infections, necessitating close monitoring throughout the treatment period.
