LOSANOROM 50MG TAB contains Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). This medication is primarily indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. Losartan works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby preventing its vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects. This leads to vasodilation, reduced peripheral vascular resistance, and decreased blood pressure.
