About

Lupiximab 100mg injection contains the active ingredient rituximab and is used to treat various conditions in adults. It can be given alone or in combination with other medications to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer affecting white blood cells called B-lymphocytes) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (a common cancer affecting B-cells). Additionally, it is prescribed for moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the joints) in combination with methotrexate in adults.

Other indications include granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis—both inflammatory conditions affecting blood vessels, primarily in the lungs and kidneys—in adults and children aged 2 years and older. Lupiximab is also used to treat moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune disorder causing painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes, such as the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals.

Lupiximab 100mg injection belongs to the class of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to rituximab or any other ingredients, have a weakened immune system, or suffer from any severe active infections. Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, heart failure, or breathing problems before starting treatment. Also, discuss any history of hepatitis B infection with your physician, as this infection can sometimes reactivate and become severe during treatment. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not recommended while using this medication.

Common side effects of Lupiximab include bloodstream infections, reduced red blood cell counts, dizziness, swelling of the face and body, itchy skin, diarrhea, increased sweating, and fluctuations in blood pressure. Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months after the final dose.

This medication may cause severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours after administration. Inform your healthcare provider immediately if you experience symptoms such as high blood pressure, chest pain, headache, difficulty breathing, vomiting, skin rashes, or swelling of the throat.
