About
POMIDE 4MG contains Pomalidomide, an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) with direct anti-tumor activity, immunomodulatory effects, and anti-angiogenic properties. It is primarily indicated in combination with dexamethasone for the treatment of adult patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least two prior therapies, including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor, and have demonstrated disease progression on or within 60 days of completion of the last therapy. Pomalidomide works by directly inhibiting the proliferation of myeloma cells, inducing apoptosis, and enhancing T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell-mediated immunity. It also inhibits angiogenesis by blocking the production of pro-angiogenic factors.
Due to its teratogenic potential, POMIDE is available only through a restricted distribution program called the POMALYST REMS program. Patients must adhere to strict pregnancy prevention measures. Its unique mechanism of action makes it a valuable therapeutic option for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, offering a distinct pathway to combat the disease when other treatments have failed.
