About

STAMLO 5 MG TAB contains Amlodipine, a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. It primarily acts by relaxing vascular smooth muscle, leading to peripheral vasodilation and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. In patients with angina, it improves myocardial oxygen supply by dilating coronary arteries and reduces myocardial oxygen demand by decreasing afterload. It is effective in managing both hypertension and various forms of angina.

Its gradual onset of action and prolonged duration of effect allow for convenient once-daily dosing, contributing to good patient compliance. Amlodipine is well-absorbed orally and undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism. It is a widely used first-line agent or an add-on therapy for cardiovascular conditions, demonstrating efficacy across diverse patient populations.
