About

Flu Lifex 50mg Injection contains Fludarabine, a potent purine analog antimetabolite primarily used in the management of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Its mechanism involves intracellular phosphorylation to its active triphosphate form, which then inhibits DNA polymerase alpha, DNA primase, and ribonucleotide reductase. This inhibition disrupts DNA synthesis and repair, leading to programmed cell death in malignant lymphocytes. Fludarabine is particularly effective against quiescent and proliferating lymphocytes, making it a valuable agent in treating lymphoid malignancies.

The drug is administered intravenously and is often a key component in frontline and salvage regimens for CLL, especially in patients who have failed prior alkylating agent-based therapies. Due to its significant immunosuppressive properties, patients receiving Fludarabine require close monitoring for opportunistic infections and hematologic toxicities, including profound myelosuppression.
